Brother Hobby Returner R5 2306 2650kv

Tested KV:2630kv
Weight:28.7g
Stator W:23mm
Stator H:6mm
This higher Kv variant of the R5 line from Brother Hobby is simply a different number of turns on the wind from the 2450kv variant, so take some time to review the build summary there, and we'll get right on to the results.

Again it is very interesting here to compare the 2306 with the Multicopter Builders 2207 2650kv motor, given the similarities in the design of these. Unfortunately it tested a bit lower than the 2207 variant, so the results aren't directly comparable with the stator size as the only variable, but they're still close enough to be interesting.  The lower Kv here is pretty clear in the energy requirements, with a pretty decent rise in efficiency across most of the props.  The power output is also lower, but still extremely respectable, especially given this motor comes in under 29g due to a few less turns on the windings than the R5 2450kv. On heavy 5" props this motor barely breaks 40A, giving very similar current numbers to the R3 2207 even though it is quite a bit higher Kv. Given the low weight, high torque, and solid power, this motor is a very viable option for a range of applications with the appropriate proping, especially in the light weight racer category.
