Rotorgeeks sent their latest motor over for testing.  This motor builds on the success of the 2205 2700kv motor, and is build with the same quality and attention to detail as it's little brother.

Summary

The Rotorgeeks motors are always built with excellent quality machining and super smooth running, and this latest motor is no exception.  It sports the same 7075 construction as the updated 2205 2700kv, as well as Rotorgeeks typical curved magnets and very thick wire windings.  As with the 2205 motor this is one of the better built motors to come across my bench.  The only real downside here is the weight, coming in around 33g.  I really struggled with where to place this motor in my testing categories, in terms of weight class, it is a bit heavier than the other 2300kv motors we've been testing, but in terms of current draw and power it fits, so I'm putting this one with the other 2300kv motors.

Now on to the bench results!

Test Results

This motor did very well in the 2300kv class motors, as expected with the extra mm stator height over most of the other competitors.  The extra torque provided by the increased stator height more than makes up for the lack of N52 magnets in this motor, when comparing it to the 2205 latest generation motors. Every prop I tested this motor on had sustained thrust above 1kg.  The 5x4x3 broke 1200g sustained at 27A, but this motor does very well on the heavier 5" props. It really shines on the King Kong 6x4, breaking the 1500g mark at only 32A. Unloaded in the air that should be plenty of power for not unreasonable current. Over all these are very reasonable results for this motor. It's closest match is the T-Motor F60 2200kv motor, which it beats in wieght by about 2 gramps per motor and thrust on the 5" props at the cost of a little over two amps almost across the board.
