RCINPower is one of those motor companies that was quite a surprise to me the first time I saw their motors. The quality that RCINPower is capable of producing is fantastic. The machining quality, smoothness, and tolerances are phenominal.  The GT series of motors impressed me months ago, and the new GTS revisions to this line are taking it a step further. The GT motor has been updated with thicker single wire windings, 0.15mm stator laminations, single piece 4mm internal hollow shaft and 4mm bearings, thicker magnets with a tighter air gap, and solder pads rather than wires. The most signifcant change is an increase in stator size from 2205 to 2305. My only complaint is the weight, which is still a bit heavy for the stator class size, though the 31g is a bit easier to swallow with the extra mm of width. Overall this motor represents a significant progression over its predicessor.

Results

With the excellent performance of the previous generation motors from RCPINpower and the improvements made it the results here are particularly interesting.  It is hard to put a finger on a specific improvement that makes a difference, but the combination here is dramatic.  This motor puts out some impressive torque for a 5mm motor, matching the Emax RS2306 2600kv almost exactly in both thrust and current, though it still falls behind the larger stator motors. The weakest prop tested on this motor easily clears 1200g of thrust at about 30A, which is a few amps higher than the larger stator, lower KV motors, that can hit similar numbers but with lower current. Given the lower weight than the larger stators, this still puts this motor in a good place, balancing weight and power.
