Tornado T1 2205 2600kv

Tested KV:2620kv
Weight:28g
Stator W:22mm
Stator H:5mm
The Tornado line from BrotherHobby has been one of the most popular over the last few months, providing solid build quality and great performance.  The T1 2600kv is no exception, being essentialy identical to the 2300kv that was already tested.  There's not really anything new here exept the number of turns in the windings.  One thing that I did notice is that the T1 motors have a slightly larger air gap than some of the newere motors on the market (including the T2), but other design features are likely to compensate. The motor is a tad heavy for a 2205 coming in at 28g, but is still a good deal lighter than many other 2205s on the market.

Results

The results here were very solid even on the heavier 5" props, which given the high KV is quite impressive. The 0.15mm laminations and thick magnets are doing a great job of providing RPMs under load.  The results are quite close to the first generation Emax RS2205 2600kv motor, but falling short of the new generation of high KV motors like the RS-S 2600kv and the Xnova Hyper 2600kv in both RPMs/Thrust and top end current.  Overall it is a very solid performer that will not tax the battery quite to the level of some of the newer motors.
